When I was about twelve my mom once said to me, “You need to start reading the newspaper.” “Why?” I asked. “So you’ll have something interesting to talk about at cocktail parties,” she replied. As with a lot of my mom’s advice, it wasn’t necessarily the best idea. The secret to great conversation is actually easy and to implementing this skill: * Will make you more relaxed in social situations * Will make you seem like the warm and engaging person you are * Will cause people to seek you out and want to talk to you (e.g.: you’ll be more popular)
