Society sends clear messages about what a person is supposed to look like and when we don’t conform, there is a discrimination that takes place that we seldom talk about. Kate Manne sheds light on the social stigma of obesity and teaches us how to face and combat fatphobia. Kate is an associate professor of philosophy at Cornell University. Before that she was a junior fellow at Harvard Society of Fellows. She did her graduate work at MIT and is the author of the books, Down Girl and Entitled. Her new book is Unshrinking: How to Face Fatphobia.
