Unless the Supreme Court intervenes by New Year’s Eve, for the first time in our nation’s history, unelected, unaccountable judges will decide the make-up of the U.S. military – not its Commander-in-Chief.

Such judges have ordered the Pentagon to start enlisting transgender individuals on January 1. They’re unconcerned that such enlistees have a psychological disorder known as gender dysphoria. Or that each will be eligible for expensive sex-change surgery and/or hormone treatments rendering them unable to be deployed for months at a time. Or that integrating them into showers and barracks is obviously detrimental to good order and discipline.

For such reasons, President Trump has formally directed the armed forces not to bring in new transgender recruits. He has the exclusive constitutional authority to make that call. So, no transgender enlistments should be finalized until judicial challenges to that authority are resolved.
