Cheryl Haworth is a 3x Olympian in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting. While does not consider herself a pioneer of women’s weightlifting, most everyone else does. Haworth was one of four Americans to compete in women’s weightlifting’s Olympic debut in 2000, and she was one of two to medal, earning bronze in the +75 kg. class at 17 years old in Sydney. Before retiring in 2010, Haworth’s list of accomplishments included a bronze medal at the 2005 world championships, three Olympic appearances, a Pan American Games gold medal, three junior world titles and 11 national titles (the most by any U.S. woman). Before retiring in 2010, Haworth’s list of accomplishments included a bronze medal at the 2005 world championships, three Olympic appearances, a Pan American Games gold medal, three junior world titles and 11 national titles (the most by any U.S. woman). For those reasons and more, Haworth was inducted into the USA Weightlifting Hall of Fame in 2015.

She is also the star of the documentary, Strong!
