We chat with Radhika Vardhan in this episode. She takes us through her decision to leave and what gave her the power to make such decisions. She talks about leaving a successful IT career and then deciding to set up a real estate firm, the challenges she faced, how she handled the challenges and the points that influenced her thinking and journey. She shares tips based on her journey from corporate to starting her own business. She has a clear message for young women in the early stages of their career, and I tell you, this is an interesting one.

What's in this episode:
Radhika starts off explaining why she had to leave her first career and the factors that influenced the decision. She talks about how our perspectives change based on our roles and what has been the mantra for her to help in the decision making process. She has an interesting response to my question on whether it was assumed she will leave her career, as is common in many households.
She talks about experiencing the little joys of staying at home in the initial months and what triggered her to look for jobs again.
Then she goes on to clarify what led her to ask her property manager for job options and those initial feelings of wanting to start a business on her own. Like many other women featured in this podcast, she grabbed every opportunity that came her way and looked at innovative ways of approaching people, when faced with a NO.
Not just that, during the pandemic, she went all out to start a business, seeing an opportunity in the hit many businesses were experiencing during the lockdowns.
Radhika then goes on to share her thoughts at that time, identifying what one needs the most during such a transition, the learnings around the transition itself, the role of confidence and what triggered her to be active and engaged. She talks about the what she learnt from the women around her and what she thinks every individual should do.
The message she shares for young women, is very practical and well though through - you would find these very useful.
