Join us as we unpack the last section of this amazing Psalm!
"For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place: “This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.” "
What we see at the beginning of this chapter as David’s desire to find a dwelling place for God is now confirmed as a desire of God. What a glorious thing, when someone’s heart is filled with the very passions that stir the heart of God!
The physical location of Jerusalem is the eternal resting place of God. What an awesome hope—that one day the prayer of the ages will be answered and God’s kingdom will come—on earth as it is in heaven.
"I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread." “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 5:3). When The Lord returns, the physical hub of the kingdom of heaven will be Jerusalem. In this place, the poor will be blessed with the soul-satisfying nourishment of bread. May that day come quickly when the Lamb comes to shepherd His flock and “They shall neither hunger anymore” (Rev. 7:16).
