TransPanTastic: Transgender parenting, work, marriage, transition, and life!
Society & Culture:Personal Journals
Health care is a complicated subject, and getting health care as a transgender person can be even more so. Is the doctor choosing not to touch your body because she's bigoted, or just inept? Is a nurse being snotty because he's tired after a long shift, or because he took a look at your records? As George ages, health care interactions are going to become more frequent, and it's important that his providers are all capable and competent to work with populations of all genders. The good news is, his intestines tried to kill him just in time to have a day off for the mad rush on Gallifrey One hotel reservations!
