Pat would like people of all ages to understand and embrace how and why we age, providing strategies to help each of us live life to the fullest as we move on in years. One of the greatest accomplishments in life is to accept the things you cannot change – while still doing something about the things you can change, before it’s too late. There is no such thing as “anti-aging” – there are no miracle creams or cures to turn back time. Cosmetic procedures may be an option to feel better about how you look, but nothing stops time from moving forward. She knows because she’s tried them all! Living well is the only way to survive and endure the aging process. Growing older is inevitable, but we can learn to embrace it, and make every day of our lives wonderful by developing lifestyle habits that work. Being present and planning ahead helps us to feel more in control and reduce stress in regard to aging.
Pat has found that whether you have a lot of money or a little, if you retain energy and enthusiasm, which cannot be bought, you can age well. Physically, emotionally, and professionally, we all have room to learn and grow. By following the simple concepts outlined in this book, you can dramatically reduce the stresses that contribute to energy drain and premature aging. She feels very strongly about honestly addressing the realities of aging, posing the questions we all have about getting older, especially to ourselves. Pat’s advice, which has turned into a mantra, is: “Stay In Today.” What we often take to be negative aspects of aging can be countered by strategies to help us all feel better about getting old.
