CareYaYa's mission is to make elder care more accessible and affordable by connecting pre-health students from prestigious universities with elderly individuals in need of companionship and assistance. This initiative not only provides valuable experience for the students but also fosters meaningful intergenerational relationships. Livie explains the training student caregivers receive, which equips them to perform non-medical tasks like meal preparation and medication reminders. The affordability of CareYaYa's services, with rates significantly lower than traditional home health care aides, makes respite care more accessible for families.
We also introduce "Quick Talk," an innovative AI phone calling system aimed at combating loneliness among the elderly. This AI, named Frank, can engage in conversations with seniors, providing companionship and ensuring regular check-ins. The technology is currently free, thanks to partnerships with organizations like AARP, and is in a testing phase with a waitlist for interested families.
