The Friday Night Parkdale Special
Music:Music History
Last week, we were looking at how Public Enemy's collaboration with Anthrax set the stage for nu-metal, and I touched on the soundtrack for Judgment Night in 1993 (*kept saying 1994 in the recording, apologies) being something that furthered the potential for that genre to happen. Judgement Night also set the stage for further crossovers with metal. This week, we take a look at how the rise of electronic music to popular culture in soundtracks allowed the soundtrack for Spawn to happen, which was full of metal and electronic collaborations, a crossover style that's still alive and kicking.
