Local TD says collapse of Dental Treatment Services Scheme has major consequences

A local TD says the effective collapse of the Dental Treatment Services Scheme has major consequences for public health. 

The DTSS allows adults with a medical card to access a range of free dental services. 

But in recent years, card-holders have encountered enormous difficulty is trying to access care, with many dentists withdrawing from the scheme.

Deputy Sean Canney says the DTSS needs to be urgently reviewed and reformed.
