End the Politics of Personal Destruction in America

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.

It remains to be seen whether the hearing in which Judge Brett Kavanaugh and a woman who accused him of sexual assault in high school transfixed the nation proves to be a tipping point. 

Or, alternatively, whether it will turn out to be just another appalling milestone along the path that another distinguished jurist who was subjected to similar ritual defamation, Judge Robert Bork, famously called “slouching toward Gommorah.”

My fervent prayer is that, for the sake of our great Republic, this honing fire will produce one of the greatest Supreme Court justices ever. Based on Judge Kavanaugh’s extraordinarily distinguished and productive twelve-year record on the bench to date, that would probably be the case even without it.

But, please God, let his confirmation now be swift and have it bring finally to an end the politics of personal destruction in America.
