“I’m not gay, but…”
This week, we’re diving into the wonderfully chaotic world of queer-coded behaviour before we knew we were queer.
From playing as the opposite gender in The Sims, to lurking in gay chatrooms “just out of curiosity” to watching certain videos a little too often, we reflect on all the ways we unknowingly tried to suppress or test our queerness.
We also chat:
Compulsory heterosexuality (comp het) and how it shaped our early experiences
The fear of same-gender intimacy going “too far”
The lack of queer representation growing up, and how that impacted our identity development
And the moments we look back on and go: “Oh...”
It’s tender. It’s hilarious. It’s extremely gay.
And if you’ve ever had a “wait… am I?” moment, this one’s for you. 🌈💻💋
