Thank you to Chicago's own Hip-Hop artist and activist for coming on my show for an interview! Goalden Chyld talked about his new album War Cry, thoughts on his album charting as an independent artist, and why the future for Hip-Hop and R&B artists is staying independent. He discussed his earliest memories of being in Aurora before relocating to the south side of Chicago, his father rapping with Jay-Z and DMX back stage in that famous freestyle video, and the poem that his father gave him to spit at the age of 8 that began his Hip-Hop career. He got into working in the Chicago Public Schools as a mentor, how to start in house in creating change in the communities, and not labeling himself as a conscious artist. Stay tuned for what Goalden Chyld has on the way!
