Did Sgt. Bergdahl Leave Us Behind?

Ronald Reagan famously quipped that he didn’t leave the Democratic Party; it left him. A variation on the theme seems apt regarding Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl.

The Obama administration’s flaks insist they had to trade five of the world’s most dangerous jihadists for this POW because we have a “sacred duty to leave no one behind.” They didn’t seem so dutiful when dispatching forces might have prevented four Americans from being left behind, or at least dead, in Benghazi.

There is, moreover, substantial reason to believe that Sergeant Bergdahl left us behind, not the other way around. (See http://dailym.ai/1wPvjxS). If so, did we really owe anything to a soldier who apparently deserted – let alone buying his freedom at what may prove to be a high cost for the rest of us?
