On Wednesday November 20, Pam Marvin talked with Jim Olson about his new book, To Catch a Spy: The Art of Counterintelligence. Mr. Olson served for over thirty years in the Directorate of Operations of the Central Intelligence Agency and is now a Professor of the Practice at the Bush School, where he teaches courses on intelligence and counterintelligence. He has a passion for counterintelligence, which is stopping foreign countries from stealing technology from the United States. One of the reasons he wrote the book, To Catch a Spy, is because he believes Americans aren’t truly aware of how badly we are being attacked by foreign intelligence services. He thinks Americans need to be informed about what’s going on so that we can work to form a solution, and he hopes that the book is a start to informing people about this issue of foreign intelligence.
