Today we interview Phyllis Starkaria, MCEC a former VP of HR for a major medical diagnostic company and is now a certified Corporate Executive Coach to listen to her views about joining a professional organization.
With more than 25 years of leadership experience, facilitation, and trusted adviser she has held executive roles in government affairs and human resources and has had responsibility for functions as diverse as strategic planning, merger integration, and team effectiveness. Phyllis was previously an internal adviser and coach to C-level executives and other leaders at Quidel Corporation, a leading medical diagnostics manufacturer, where she oversaw the company’s global HR strategy and programs. In addition, Phyllis has held financial analysis, strategic planning, government affairs, and HR roles with large, matrixed corporations in the energy industry.
She is a published scholar in the field of authentic leadership and has served on the adjunct faculty of several universities. More recently, Phyllis has worked with companies in the start-up and growth phases of the corporate life cycle and has served on a number of non-profit boards.
