Pure Science: Mysterious Indian Ocean whale is changing its call and we don’t know why

Researchers from IIT-Madras have identified the changes in the call of an unknown blue whale species in the Indian Ocean. The changes in the whale’s call are not consistent with changes produced by ambient noise increase, so the researchers propose alternate explanations for why whales are sounding different.
