On this episode, we are joined by Senator Joni Ernst. She was elected from Iowa in 2014 and is the first female combat veteran to serve in the U.S. Senate, after a distinguished career in the Army Reserve and in the Army National Guard. She is the Vice Chair of the Senate Republican Conference and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Roger and Sen. Ernst talked about the war in Ukraine, including her personal connection to the country and the Ukrainian military’s need for additional lethal aid. They also discussed China, and how the China threat affects everyday Iowans.
