Allen Hinnant, a traditional music advocate in Sumter, South Carolina, shares stories from his childhood and his experiences growing up in the fifties in the small town of Kingstree, South Carolina, with a caring family. He tells us how kindness and children’s books have guided him since then and also brought him clarity in the midst of confusion and stereotypes.
