Stop Subsidizing the Palestinians

The Palestinians’ corrupt Fatah faction that has long despotically misruled the West Bank has just announced that it will form a “unity government” with the jihadists of the Hamas terrorist group that has been despotically misruling the Gaza Strip.

Predictably, if such a government actually materializes, the repressive Islamic doctrine known as shariah will take hold. Jihad against Israel and the West will be obligatory and intensified Palestinian isolation will surely ensue.

For the region, it will mean more instability. Iran will expand its access to and use of Palestinian territory to threaten the Jewish State. Jordan and Egypt may be drawn into new conflicts.

One thing is for sure: If unity really happens, with these predictable effects, it must mark the end of ill-advised subsidies of the Palestinians by U.S. taxpayers.
