Team Obama finds Fridays to be a good time to unveil its most problematic initiatives. Fridays before holiday weekends seem to be favored for stories they really want to bury.
So, the Obama White House chose Good Friday to sign Senator Ted Cruz’s legislation blocking terrorists from gaining access to our country on diplomatic visas. It was recently approved unanimously by the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Yet, in his signing statement, Barack Obama said he considers this new statute to be merely “advisory.” Evidently, if the President thinks it desirable to admit an Iranian or other terrorist diplomat, he will do so.
The President’s idea of a Good Friday announcement is contrary to his constitutional duty, inconsistent with the national security and bad news for the rest of us.
