On Tuesday, August 21, 2018, host Trey Cashion revisited how the sacrament of Baptism accomplishes the saving action of Christ's life, death, and resurrection in the here and now. The Latin term sacramentum is the word mysterion in Greek, thus the words "sacrament" and "mystery" are intimately linked. So, it's natural we have a focus on the sacraments here at Mystery of Parenthood. The jumping off point for today's show was an article by Karlo Broussard, an apologist with Catholic Answers, on the concepts of sanctification and justification which are very central for Protestants. Let's look at how they are at work in the sacrament of Baptism and how Catholics take the Incarnation seriously and believe the fullness of what Christ accomplished on the Cross. And it's these merits that are work in the sacraments. This week's memory verse is Romans 6:4, "We were indeed buried with him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live in newness of life."
