Big thank you to O.C. for coming on my show for an interview! O.C. talked about his introduction to Hip-Hop on his first record Fudge Pudge, MC Serch signing him to Wild Pitch Records, and being apart of the legendary group D.I.T.C. We discussed his classic record Time's Up, how it was originally meant for Pharoahe Monch, and the instrumental being used in 8 Mile for one of the battle rap scenes. He got into his stories about Nas not showing up to his session for Word...Life, the Beastie Boys almost signing him, and making songs such as Dignified Soldiers & Dangerous with Big L. We discussed his sophomore album Jewelz, the samples of INTRO on the album, and his collaborations with Bumpy Knuckles. Most importantly, we covered how he has progressed overtime in his music with his newer albums Same Moon Same Sun and A New Dawn. He mentions that he may come out with one more solo album. Stay tuned!
