Today we will look at the difficult to understand teaching of Jesus concerning his glorification and the destruction of Jerusalem in Luke 21. Most people take this passage as if Jesus was speaking of the end of days, however the context of his words means he was not speaking of now; he was talking about what would happen then. In principle everything that happened then will also be true at the end, but Luke 21 is all about the 40 years between when he spoke these words and the sacking of Jerusalem. This all signified the fulfilment of the old covenant and the launch of the new, with an overlap of one generation.
