Music Nerd Valentines

 

 

The premise for this valentines day show is really tongue in cheek. I didn't want to do the typical songs about love, mainly because I did that last year (to great effect, I might add!  It was easily one of the best shows I've ever done, in my opinion, both in diversity of content, and flow.  If you never got a chance to listen to it, by all means, please do so at some time! http://wrir.org/x/modules/news/article.php?storyid=12247 Very enjoyable show and a lot of fun!) I also didn't want to do an "anti-valentines" day show with songs about love gone awry and such, mainly because even though love has indeed eluded your humble host, I remain, at heart, a romantic (part and parcel with being Italian,it comes with the territory!) I thought it would be a fun idea to declare my unabashed love for the fictitious women portrayed in songs that I've come to idealize over the years. They're the perfect girlfriends, you could say, since because they only live in song, they're always reliable, they never disappoint, and they're always there for me when there was no one else!
