Northeast Delta Dental Radio is pleased to welcome New Hampshire’s First Lady, Dr. Susan Lynch, to this weekend’s broadcast. Dr. Lynch will share with Tom Raffio and the radio audience about a capital campaign to renovate New Hampshire’s Executive Residence, The Bridges House.
Built in 1835, the Bridges House is listed both on the New Hampshire and National Registers of Historic Places. While our state’s first family does not live at the residence, it serves as the setting for many of the governors official state functions and is an extension of that office. Legislators, civic and business groups, nonprofit community groups, and special guests also use the property for meetings and events.
The Bridges House is named after H. Styles Bridges, governor of New Hampshire form 1935 to 1937 and Senator from 1937 until his death in 1961. Governor Bridges and his wife, Doloris, acquired the property in 1946; and the couple bequeathed the home to the State of New Hampshire “to be used and maintained exclusively as the official residence of the governor of the State of New Hampshire.”
The Friends of Bridges House launched a capital campaign to raise funds for the preservation, restoration, and ongoing maintenance of this historic home. Learn more about The Bridges House by visiting www.friendsofbridgeshouse.org .
