America’s Fiddling

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Legend has it that in Ancient Rome’s declining years, its mad Emperor Nero fiddled as his capital city went up in flames. Today, it seems that a lot of fiddling is going on as official Washington puts America’s defenses to the torch. Earlier this year, President Obama and Congress agreed to cut nearly half a trillion dollars from the funds our troops need to protect the rest of us.  Now, in a bid to shrink the yawning federal deficit, they put in place what Defense Secretary Leon Panetta calls a “doomsday machine.” Unless something is done, this so-called “sequestration” mechanism will result in another 600 billion dollars being cut from our defenses over the next decade – with disastrous effects on our security.  Will your representatives stop fiddling and stave off that calamity?
