The Persecution of Christians

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Christians in the Mideast are becoming the proverbial canaries in the shariah mineshaft.  Their increasingly grim fate is a leading indicator for that region – and for our vital interests, there and beyond.  In a front-page article today, the Wall Street Journal reports that members of Christian minorities in country after country are being threatened, forced into exile and in some cases murdered simply for practicing their faith. This situation is sure to worsen in Iraq, Lebanon and Egypt.  Syria and Jordan seem likely to be the next countries to fall under the sway of the totalitarian Islamic doctrine of shariah.  If so, native Christians and refugees will be imperiled there, too. Instead of supporting the Muslim Brotherhood, the Obama administration should be standing with the freedom-loving Christians oppressed by such virulent Islamists.
