The Fall of the Euro

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Europe has gotten into a world of hurt.  The most important reason seems to be a lack of accountability on the part of lots of people in the 17-country zone that uses a single currency called the Euro.  The Eurozone nations have become accustomed to unaffordable socialist arrangements, many of them mandated by unelected European Union bureaucrats in Brussels. Now, the bills of this binge are coming due.  And the leaders of Germany and France are saying that the way to fix the fiscal meltdown in Europe is to consolidate more power in Brussels at the expense of sovereign and democratically elected governments in the EU member states.   Former UN Ambassador John Bolton has described this crisis as a “democracy deficit.”  Making that deficit worse is unlikely to fix what ails Europe.
