Newt Gingrich Speaking On Sharia

Yesterday, Newt Gingrich was asked whether he would support a Muslim for president. It depends, he said, on whether the candidate was “a modern person who happens to worship Allah” and is not a threat. Or “a person who belonged to any kind of belief in shariah, any kind of effort to impose that on the rest of us” and would be a “mortal threat.”

Newt is absolutely right in making such a distinction. The present danger arises not from the fact that people are Muslim, but from the extent to which they adhere to the totalitarian, supremacist Islamic doctrine of shariah. We must know our enemies. We must defeat – not accommodate – those who, in the name of shariah, are obliged to wage jihad against us. And we must keep America shariah-free.
