The State Of Our Union

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. ’Tis the season for presidential campaign speeches. And tonight, we’ll hear one from the 2012 Democratic candidate, who happens to be the incumbent. Barack Obama will likely use his State of the Union address less to provide an honest assessment of the condition of our republic after his three years in office, and more to deliver a pitch to get four more years there. Don’t expect to hear much, though, about the single most important determinant of the state of our Union: the document that glues it together, our Constitution. Mr. Obama has taken to shredding its blueprint for divided government, with critical checks and balances to safeguard our freedoms. Presidential overreach threatens our Union.
