Understanding Our Most Dangerous Enemy

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Five-thousand years ago, Chinese strategist Sun Tsu observed you cannot defeat an enemy you do not know. We have tried to prove otherwise – and failed – at least since 9/11. Today, Team Obama pretends that we confront something called “violent extremism” – a euphemism that applies equally to Christian fundamentalists, anti-abortion activists, right-wing militias and, well, others. You can destroy your government career noting that, among the others, are Muslims who believe they must engage in holy war, or jihad. So, it was surprising to hear the Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testify last week that we confront “a global jihadist movement,” not just violent extremism. We can only hope that this bit of truth-telling means that we might actually start to understand, and effectively counter, the most dangerous enemy we face at present.
