China’s Cyberwarfare

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. President Obama is sending dangerous signals to visiting Communist Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping, presumed to be the next leader of his country. For example, President Obama gave Xi the full red-carpet treatment on Monday, despite fresh evidence of China’s relentless cyberwarfare against American government and business computers. It seems that for over a decade Chinese hackers have been ripping off the technology and secrets of Nortel, a major U.S. telecommunications company. Then, despite indications that China is secretly and massively building up its nuclear arsenal, Mr. Obama is actively considering unilaterally cutting the U.S. nuclear deterrent by as much as 80%. Ignoring strategically threatening Chinese actions ensures we will be subjected to more of them. Worse, by rewarding such actions, we not only invite China’s contempt, we deserve it.
