Afghanistan’s Green-on-Blue

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. “Green-on-blue” is a phenomenon that could turn President Obama’s strategy for withdrawing from Afghanistan into a rout. “Green” refers to Afghans who are supposedly our allies. We are training them to serve as their country’s future military and police. Yet, an increasing number are murderously attacking the “blue” – namely, our troops. By some estimates, over 50 American and NATO servicemen have been killed to date by supposed comrades who betray their trust. Two were just shot in the back of their heads inside the Afghan Interior Ministry. The Taliban, with whom we are now negotiating, took credit. Accidental burning of Quran’s may be the latest pretext. But we will see more green-on-blue attacks if our enemies perceive us as weak and irresolute, not determined to defeat them – in Afghanistan or anywhere else.
