Negotiating Away An Effective Tool

The Obama administration is negotiating away one of the most effective tools we have for countering our enemies in Afghanistan. They are known as night raids and some 2500 of them have been conducted in recent years by our highly trained special forces units with devastating effect on the Taliban’s leaders.

Even though all those raids have only resulted in the inadvertent death of 10 civilians, Afghan President Hamid Karzai insists that they end. Team Obama reportedly is poised to agree that such raids will now require the prior approval of Afghan judges. This is crazy as advance notice of the raids will result in ambushes and more of our guys getting killed.

President Obama has already invited defeat in Afghanistan. His concessions on night raids makes it that much more likely.
