There’s bad news and bad news from the latest round of multinational negotiations with Iran over its nuclear weapons program. First, the U.S., Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany – the Perm 5 plus 1 – offered a number of significant concessions, but couldn’t get the Iranians to agree.
Worse yet, the two sides are going to resume the negotiations in June. That means the mullahs of Iran have at least another month to translate their uranium enrichment and covert weaponization activities into acquisition of the Bomb.
In other words, the Obama administration and its partners in these talks are giving Iran what it most wants: time. If we persist in such recklessness, we will soon confront the inevitable consequence: The world’s most dangerous weapons in the hands of one of its most dangerous regimes.
