Protecting Deceit

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. A big week for the Supreme Court has been a bad one for America. The Supremes pretty much eviscerated federalism in their ruling on Arizona’s immigration law and gave Congress a license to steal in their ruling that Obamacare is legit since it’s a permissible tax, not an unconstitutional mandate. Another ruling got less attention.  The Court also struck down a law known as the Stolen Valor Act, which prohibited fraudulent claims to military decorations. Casting such behavior as a protected exercise of free speech simply reinforces a practice that has become all too common in our country: lying, fraud and deceit, usually for the purpose of self-promotion.  President Reagan once warned that if you want more of something subsidize it.  The same can be said of protecting it.
