Arms Treaty

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. The United Nations is increasingly understood to be dysfunctional, corrupt and virulently anti-American.  Incredibly, the Obama administration is seeking new ways to subordinate our sovereignty and even our constitutional rights to it. The UN is expected shortly to finish negotiations on a new treaty governing the international arms trade.  It will interfere with our ability help defend allies like Israel and Taiwan. Worse yet, it will be used as a vehicle for Team Obama to impose gun control wholly inconsistent with Americans’ right to bear arms. The Senate is unlikely to approve such a treaty. Yet, it could still bind us if – as expected – President Obama signs it.  Every effort must be made to dissuade him from doing so.  An election year should be the perfect time to do that.
