A recent movie about former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher reminded us of the woman whose visionary leadership and fortitude – particularly in the fight against Soviet Communism – earned her the nickname “the Iron Lady.”
It turns out we have our own Iron Lady in Congresswoman Michele Bachmann of Minnesota. Her Thatcheresque qualities are evident in her call for an official effort to expose and correct Muslim Brotherhood influence operations inside our government – a threat every bit as dangerous as communist subversion a generation ago.
She has been singled out for the most virulent and unfounded attacks, even from leaders of her own party. Her response was vintage Bachmann: “I will not be silenced.” America’s Iron Lady must not be silenced – or otherwise punished for her leadership in countering the Muslim Brotherhood.
