Yesterday, Mitt Romney at last took on Barack Obama for his performance as Commander-in-Chief. Addressing the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Republican presidential candidate made clear that the Obama record with respect to national security is so deeply flawed and dangerous that it must – and will – be an issue in this Fall’s election.
Mr. Romney contrasted his view of this country and its role in the world with that of President Obama: “I am an unapologetic believer in the greatness of this country….I believe our country is the greatest force for good the world has ever known, and that our influence is needed as much now as ever.”
President Obama may believe our nation’s decline is inevitable. The American people do not. Kudos to Gov. Romney for articulating and offering them an alternative.
