Murderously violent attacks on American diplomatic personnel and facilities in the Middle East are what President Obama would call a teachable moment. They put the spotlight at last on the Obama administration’s coddling of Islamist enemies of the United States, and what we will reap as a result.
One example was evident on the day the U.S. embassy in Cairo was overrun by Islamists who tore down and desecrated our flag – and hoisted that of al Qaeda – while the Muslim Brotherhood-led government did nothing. Embassy staffers repeatedly sent Tweets signaling sympathy for Muslims taking offense at a provocative American video.
Governor Mitt Romney has argued that, in the face of these outrages, the United States must stand up for our freedoms, not apologize for them. He’s absolutely right and it’s high time someone said so.
