Kristalnacht

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Seventy-four years ago, Adolf Hitler’s Nazis unleashed on German Jews a tidal wave of murderous violence. The event became known as Kristalnacht – the Night of Broken Glass – one manifestation of the mayhem inflicted on Jewish businesses, homes and places of worship. It marked an ominous step towards the genocide of the Holocaust. Today, the lives and property of Christians and other minorities are meeting a similar fate in various places in the Mideast and Africa at the hands of Islamist governments and/or organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, al Qaeda’s Boko Haram in Nigeria and the so-called “rebels” in Syria. Such treatment of their countrymen is usually a predictor of how adherents to totalitarian ideologies would treat the rest of us. We must not ignore the lessons of Kristalnachts, then and now.
