Unfortunately, those American servicemen and women and their NATO counterparts are increasingly hampered by restrictions on their ability to fight - or even render effective support to Afghans who still want to do so. The latest limitation prohibits U.S. airpower from aiding our Afghan allies if they get into trouble in residential areas.
Our enemies are adept at exploiting such limitations, putting Americans and their mission at risk. This is a formula for ensuring we lose the war - and reap the whirlwind in Afghanistan and elsewhere.
