Japan Goes Nuclear

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. For nearly seven decades, the searing memory of two atomic bombs dropped on its soil and confidence in America's nuclear umbrella kept Japan from deploying its own nuclear arsenal.  That seems about to change. The Wall Street Journal reports that a nuclear reprocessing plant at Rokkasho is nearly ready to come online, enabling Japan to make enough plutonium for 2,000 weapons.  To be sure, the Japanese haven't announced that intention, but it seems a matter of time. Welcome to the world President Obama has inspired with his bid to rid the planet of nuclear weapons, starting with ours.  In fact, no other nation is following his lead.  And, all other things being equal, more will likely follow Japan's.
