Power’s Job Interview

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee conducted a job-interview of sorts yesterday. But no prudent businessman would allow a prospective employee to get away with the performance Samantha Power turned in – let alone hire her for a job as significant as America’s next representative to the United Nations.

Senator Marco Rubio did what passed for the only serious grilling of this long-time, anti-American leftist. He asked repeatedly what Power meant in 2003 when she denounced “crimes committed, sponsored, or permitted by the United States”? The job applicant kept bobbing-and-weaving, twice by insisting that she loves this country.

If Senators allow Samantha Power to get by with such transparent dissembling, they will share responsibility for the poor job performance she is certain to turn in for the American people.
