Who Lost Egypt?

Nothing indicts an American presidency more than when a country is lost to the Free World and taken over by its enemies. For example, when Mao Tse-Tung came to power in 1949, President Harry Truman was accused of “losing China.” And Jimmy Carter certainly “lost Iran” when he encouraged the toppling of the Shah.

Until Barack Obama, however, no U.S. president lost the same country twice.

First, early in the so-called “Arab Spring” in Egypt, President Obama threw a longtime ally, Hosni Mubarak, under the bus. By so doing, he helped usher in our enemy, the Muslim Brotherhood.

Then, after Egypt’s military deposed the Brotherhood last summer, Obama punished it by withholding funding and arms. The Russians are now filling the vacuum.

America deserves – and needs – a winner, not a loser.
