State of Obama’s Transformation

As President Obama offers his assessment of the State of the Union tonight, recall that it comes from a man who vowed to “fundamentally transform” America.

So when he talks about redressing “income inequality,” that’s code for transforming what is left of our capitalist economy along the lines of state-directed redistribution of wealth. His defense of Obamacare will similarly mask his ambition to raise from its ashes government-run health care.

Perhaps most worrying will be his assertion that he will use his pen to do what Congress can’t, or won’t, do. That’s a formula for completing the transformation of our nation from a republic governed by the rule of law, to an autocracy in which the rule of man – or, more accurately, one man – operates.

That’s not our Union, Mr. President.
