Will a Presidential Run-off Restore Turkey as a NATO Ally?

The war in Ukraine obscures a serious and festering sore for the NATO alliance – namely, its inability to remove a member who long ago ceased to be a faithful one.  

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has undermined his nation’s allies while currying favor with their enemies, including fellow Sharia-supremacists like Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood, and Communist China and Putin’s Russia. 

Erdogan has also sent waves of illegal migrants into Europe, encouraging their non-assimilation and enabling preparations for the final Islamic conquest of the continent. 

Fortunately, Erdogan now faces a run-off in presidential elections. An important conference sponsored by the Middle East Forum in Washington on Tuesday and Wednesday will discuss, among other things, how a coalition it leads is making the case for an end, at last, to his repression at home, and his subversion of the West abroad.
