Central Line: The AAHA Podcast
Education
Helen Beaman, MSW, LCSW, buys clothes for her Dachshund and tailors them to fit – which should tell you a lot about why Helen, our guest this week, felt compelled to work with Dr. Charles Hurty and his team at Grove Veterinary Clinic when they reached out for help. Helen uses cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT, to give her clients tools to cope with difficult situations and overwhelming emotions like the ones veterinary professionals grapple with every day, and in this episode she discusses why she thinks CBT and veterinary teams are such a good fit. Stick around and you’ll get to try one of the exercises she taught the Grove team.
For the background on Dr. Hurty and Grove’s GRIT + LOVE initiative, check out last week’s episode - and read our NEWStat story about them here.
